Personal biography
Devapriya Thirikkot is a consultant psychologist with over four years of experience in the field of counselling. She holds a postgraduate degree and MPhil in Applied Psychology from the University of Calicut and is currently pursuing her PhD in Psychology. She has also qualified SET, GATE (2025), and UGC NET (PhD eligibility).
She has worked as an Assistant Professor and Student Counsellor, supporting undergraduate and young adult populations in academic and mental health settings. Her work involves helping individuals navigate stress, emotional regulation difficulties, interpersonal concerns, and adjustment-related challenges.
In addition to her counselling practice, she has experience as a Subject Matter Expert in psychology, providing academic guidance and structured coaching for students preparing for postgraduate entrance examinations. She has also delivered online lectures for postgraduate learners.
Her therapeutic approach is inclusive and trauma-informed, integrating empathy with cognitive understanding. She focuses on creating a safe and reflective space where individuals can explore their thoughts, emotions, and behavioural patterns, and work towards meaningful and sustainable change.
